Understanding NH's Workforce Dynamics: Insights from the Study

Collected in 2023, the data contained in these dashboards highlight trends in New Hampshire. Two surveys were conducted: one for employees working in NH-based companies and one for NH-based businesses. This dashboard offers insights on how family-friendly workplace policies and childcare accessibility impact workforce recruitment and retention, serving as a baseline for our ongoing projects.

NH Family-Friendly Business Case Study Project

Case studies are a powerful tool. They provide an in-depth look at the strategies and practices that have led to tangible success within organizations. Explore the following case studies to learn about collaborative, family-friendly partnerships in New Hampshire.

CDFA – Community Development Finance Authority

The Community Development Finance Authority is a nonprofit with 20 employees. They prioritize family-friendly benefits, including flexible scheduling, generous leave policies, child care assistance, interest-free loans, sabbaticals, and a commitment to supporting recovery.

GCLC – Gorham Community Learning Center

The Gorham Community Learning Center is dedicated to providing children with supportive, developmentally appropriate environments in which to grow and learn. With support from community partners, the center is significantly expanding its capacity to meet the growing child care needs in the North Country.

Little Antlers

Little Antlers Learning Center, a Mid-State Health Center program, is a licensed, nonprofit child care center offering affordable, accessible early childhood education in Plymouth, NH. Through community-based partnerships, Little Antlers supports MSHC employees and its community.

Register for a NH Roundtable Event

GUW will be holding a series of regional gatherings in 2024 for business leaders, child care providers, and advocates to unite to discuss ways to collectively address child care challenges. 

The objective is to engage the business sector actively and consistently to discuss these challenges, and hear about or consider innovative ideas that can drive transformative change in early care and education services. Core areas include accessibility, affordability, and quality. Participation will be open to leaders from various sectors.

Information about these roundtables will be posted and shared as they are scheduled.

The Impact of Child Care Access & Family-Friendly Policies on NH Businesses

This round table discussion, titled “Work Well: The Impact of Child Care Access and Family-Friendly Policies on NH Businesses,” aims to illuminate the multifaceted benefits these policies offer not only to the employees but also to the businesses themselves. From enhancing employee satisfaction and retention to boosting productivity and fostering a more inclusive workplace culture, the advantages are manifold.
